Biography of Band

I. The "Destins Cathares" Era (2001-2002)

The band's name, INOCCULTA, comes from the combinaison of 2 Latin words: "in" and "occulta", that is, "in" and "darkness" or "through all occult and gloomy things". As for the band's mind, as well as the texts, they are inspired by the sombre period of the Inquisition and different misanthropic forms who build up the band.

INOCCULTA was formed at Brussels in Augustus 2001 between Prometheus (guitar), Circius (bass guitar), Thorselder (drums) and Atarioth (guitar). Directly, the band composed the 3 tracks demo's music. But in order that the band was complete, a singer was necessary : it was so in February 2002 that Spoliatorion contacted INOCCULTA through a small advertisement, by taking within some lyrics. The band thus completely formed, could undertake concrete plans, such as the first demo's recording " Destins Cathares " with " Destins Cathares ; Esclave d'une Puissance Infinie ; Le Souffle d'Aquilon ". During April 2002, distensions appeared between Atarioth and INOCCULTA, what forced him to find a solution. So, he left after the first demo's recording in May 2002. This one was realized on Tascam Portastudio material (digital 8 tracks) with a disastrous sound recording. Spoliatorion took the second guitar in addition to the singing.

II. The "Fausset? et D?mesure" Era (2002-2003)

The composition of new pieces continued : indeed, Circius composed " Voyance Psychique ", Prometheus, " Fausset? et D?mesure ", and Spoliatorion, " Ruines Myst?rieuses ", " La Libert? par la Douleur " as well as a piece at the classical guitar. This first demo allowed the band to be known : INOCCULTA got reviews from Postchrist (Black Metal website) and Foedus Aeternus (Black Metal fanzine), was interviewed by Metal Factory (radio) and Foedus Aeternus, and had the opportunity to play on scene in December 2002 at the " Metal Heart Festival 2 " organized by Metal Organisation (concert organizer). One year after its recording, the first demo " Destins Cathares " got a review again from Vampire Magazine.

At the beginning of 2003, Circius composed " Ame Guerri?re " and Prometheus " Errance Eternelle ". This surge of creativity led up logically to the recording of the second demo " Fausset? et D?mesure " in February 2003 composed of the 6 pieces named before and of an interlude " Significat Diabolum ". It is interesting to note that on this 6 pieces, without the interlude, Circius, Prometheus and Spoliatorion composed each 2 of them, what shows the compositions's diversity within the band. The webzines's reaction didn't drag on : " Fausset? et D?mesure " got 12 reviews, 8 of them French, 3 English and 1 Italian. Later, INOCCULTA played in June 2003 at caf? "Le Pr?sident", during the "Pr?si-Fest 2003", on the occasion of The Music Festival, and in July 2003 at Drogenbos (Belgium) during the "Summer Metal Fest". Following a lot of requests coming from Europe's countries, the band brought out in August 2003 a compilation with the whole tracks of " Destins Cathares " and of " Fausset? et D?mesure ".

At the end of August, Christophe Szpajdel, organizer of concerts in Belgium and in England, gave to INOCCULTA the opportunity to play in November 2003 in Gent (Belgium). Meanwhile, Fausset? et D?mesure got 4 reviews again. Among these, 1 came from Germany, 1 from Argentina, 1 from Canada et 1 from France, the one from the great French magazine Metallian ! At the end of October 2003, the track Fausset? et D?mesure has been included in the " Satan's Children " compil of the French fanzine Post Mortem and in the compil of the French fanzine Vicomte de Neurasth?nie issue 4 which, in addition, wrote a review of " Fausset? et D?mesure ". The Belgian fanzine Metalize-It did the same but interviewed furthermore the band.

III. The "Apocryphe" Era (2003-2004)
