Discography

Demo: Last Rites (1984) Tracklist.
Comment: The remastered version of Killing is my Business... and Business is Good!
features this demo as bonus tracks. "Loved to Deth" is indeed spelled that way
- the extra "a" was added for the album version. A version of "Rattlehead" from
the same recording session does float about, but was never officially on the
demo.

A certain vinyl bootleg includes "Last Rites/Loved to Deth" and "Skull Beneath
the Skin", and calls the tracks "Rock Me" and "You and Me". The songs were
never, ever called that. Ever.

Lee Rausch is the drummer on this demo.
CD: Killing is my Business...and Business Is Good! (1985) Tracklist.
Lineup: Dave Mustaine - lead guitar, vocals, piano, Chris Poland - lead guitar, David Ellefson - bass guitar, back-up vocals, Gar Samuelson - drums, tympani
Comment: The original version is still available as a re-release in 1999 by Century
Media Records.

There are four versions of this album. The tracklist shown is for the
re-release from 2002 on Loud Records that was remixed and remastered. The
original had the first eight songs, with These Boots as track 4. After the
original pressing, that track was deleted under pressure from Lee Hazelwood,
who found it offensive. There was also a Century Media remaster of the original
album in 1999 (when Century Media remastered the whole Combat Records
catalogue).

The last 3 tracks are from the 1984 demo, and appear only on the 2002
remaster/remix. These Boots was permitted to be on the 2002 version, but only
on the condition that the offensive words Dave added were (literally) bleeped
out.
Demo: Peace Sells... But Who`s Buying? (1986) Tracklist.
Lineup: Dave Mustaine - Vocals, lead, rhythm guitars, David Ellefson - Bass guitars, background vocals, Chris Poland - Lead, rhythm guitars, Gar Samuelson - Drums, cigarette burns
Comment: Recorded in one take in 1986 during the Peace Sells recording sessions, where it
was used by Combat records as a promo tape.
CD: Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (1986) Tracklist.
Lineup: Dave Mustaine - Vocals, lead, rhythm guitars, David Ellefson - Bass guitars, background vocals, Chris Poland - Lead, rhythm guitars, Gar Samuelson - Drums
Comment: A new DVD audio version was released on October 14th, 2003. Included on the DVD
are three different audio tracks, DVD-A
5.1, DTS 5.1, and PCM 2.0 stereo. Also included on this special edition are
tons of extras like the "Devil's Island Mix Breakdown" which allows the
listener to break the song down into 6 different formats.
Also among the extras are interviews with Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson and
Chris Poland as well as the music videos for "Wake Up Dead" and "Peace Sells".
Single: Wake Up Dead (1986) Tracklist.
Comment: The 7" single does not contain the third track - only the 12" does.

Live tracks were recorded for the Tommy Vance Show on Radio One in London, in
1986.
Single: Anarchy in the U.K. (1988) Tracklist.
Comment: "Anarchy in the UK" is of course a Sex Pistols cover.
7" Anarchy in the UK
1. Anarchy in the UK
2. Liar

12" Anarchy in the UK (UK)
1. Anarchy in the UK
2. Liar
3. 502

12" Anarchy in the UK (Germany)
1. Anarchy in the UK

3. Devil's Island (live)
(Live tracks were recorded for the Tommy Vance Show on Radio One in London, in

Comment: 12" tracklist shown. The 7" has only the first two songs. "My last Words" is the studio version from 1986.

Lineup: Dave Mustaine - Lead vocals, lead, rhythm, acoustic guitars, David Ellefson - Bass guitar, background vocals, Jeff Young - Lead, rhythm, acoustic guitars, Chuck Behler - Drums, percussion
Comment: "Liar" is dedicated to Chris Poland, who was fired from the band for stealing
Dave Mustaine's guitars.

"In My Darkest Hour" was written in late September, 1986, after Dave heard
about Cliff Burton's death.

"Anarchy in the UK" is of course a Sex Pistols cover.

2004 re-issue re-mixed & remastered includes 4 bonus tracks.
Split: No More Mr. Nice Guy (1990) Tracklist.
Lineup: Megadeth, Dead On, Dangerous Toys

England, October 14th, 1990.
Single: Hangar 18 (1991) Tracklist.
Comment: Four versions exist. The Japanese CD version is as shown. The US CD version
has no special message. The 12" vinyl has a live version of "Hangar 18" as
opposed to the AOR edit (which cuts out most of the guitar work at the end).
The 7" has "The Conjuring" and another edited version of "Hangar 18" (the MJ12
edit). Altogether, there are four possible versions of "Hangar 18".

All live tracks were recorded at Wembley Arena, London, England on October
14th, 1990.
CD: Countdown to Extinction (1992) Tracklist.
Lineup: Dave Mustaine - Guitars, Vocals, Marty Friedman - Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Backing Vocals, David Ellefson - Bass, Backing Vocals, Nick Menza - Drums, backing vocals
Comment: Japanese release includes 2 bonus tracks, "Go to Hell" and "Breakpoint".
The remixed 2004 version contains the following bonus tracks, listed here.
EP: Live promo `92 (1992) Tracklist.
Comment: This promo was released only to radio stations for play over the air in
entirety. It was recorded live on April 12th, 1992 at the Cow Palace in San
Francisco. All eight tracks appear on one or more Megadeth singles, but
chopped up with some of the crowd interaction missing.

A bootleg version of this album is known as "Obey the Cow God" and is
misidentified as being recorded on April 20th.
Single: Symphony of Destruction (1992) Tracklist.
Comment: Six versions of this single exist. The Japanese version is as shown. The
European CD single and the 12" contain two B-sides: "Breakpoint" (3:33) and "Go

Hour" (live), or "Peace Sells" (live).

All live songs were recorded at Wembley Arena, London, on September 14th, 1990
Single: Foreclosure of a Dream (1992) Tracklist.
Comment: The Dutch CD version includes the Gristle Mix of "Symphony of Destruction"
(9:55) as well as the 3 tracks shown.

All live tracks were recorded at the Cow Palace, San Francisco, on April 12th,
1992.
Promo: Megadeth Live (1993) Tracklist.
Comment: Similar to the live promo of the year before, this was released for promotional
purposes only, and was recorded at the Cow Palace in December of 1992 also.
Says limited edition on it (aren't all promos limited?), but all but one of the
tracks (In My Darkest Hour) were used as b-sides for various singles.
Single: Sweating Bullets (1993) Tracklist.
Comment: Five versions of this album exist. Shown is the tracklist for the 2CD version
released in the UK. Tracks 1-4 are on disc one, and 5-7 on disc two.

Another CD has songs 1-4, and another has 5-7. The 12" version has songs 1, 4,
3, and the full Gristle mix.

All live tracks were recorded on April 12th, 1992, at the Cow Palace, San
Francisco.
Single: Skin O` My Teeth (1993) Tracklist.
Comment: Four versions exist. The 10" UK version is shown. It also comes with game
pieces for the Megadeth Game (I have no idea what the rules are). The 7" has
only tracks 1-2, while the CD version has "Skin O' My Teeth" (live) and
"Lucretia" (live) along with the studio track. Another CD version has tracks
1-3 of the 10" single.

All live tracks were recorded at the Music Theatre, Alpine Valley, Wisconsin,
on May 23rd, 1992.
Promo: The Baby Head Promo (1994) Tracklist.
Comment: The Baby Head Promo (or Baby Face Promo) was a promotional album that was given
to Mike Graben (Ratlhead), webmaster of once biggest Megadeth fan site, by
Capitol Records. Mike Graben had a contest where people could win these CDs.
CD: Youthanasia (1994) Tracklist.
Lineup: Dave Mustaine - Guitars, Vocals, Marty Friedman - Guitars, Backing Vocals, David Ellefson - Bass, Backing Vocals, Nick Menza - Drums, Backing Vocals
Comment: Several limited editions exist.
One limited edition CD came in blue jewelcase.
Also released as limited boxset containing a Megadeth T-Shirt.
Also released as limited 2CD in a slipcase containing "Hidden Treasures" as
bonus disc.

A Korean version of the CD features "Crown of Worms" as a bonus track, along
with a message for Korean fans by Marty Friedman (at this point they'd never
been to Korea) and a "tell your concert organizers you want Megadeth!" poster
thingy.

2004 remaster includes:

13. Absolution (unreleased material, includes the musical interlude from
Trust)
14. A Tout Le Monde (rehearsal demo - different lyrics, different French
chorus, bad start, different and longer Marty solo)
15. Millenium of the Blind (unreleased song from Youthanasia)
16. New World Order (demo)
EP: Train of Consequences (1994) Tracklist.
Comment: Five versions of this EP exist. The Holland CD version is shown. The Australian
single is missing "Anarchy in the UK", and the UK single is missing "Anarchy in
the UK" and "Black Curtains".

The 12" has track 1, "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due", and tracks 4 and 6.
The 7" has only tracks 1 and 2.

All live tracks were recorded at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California,
on April 12th, 1992. With the release of this series of singles, it is
possible to have the entire live show (8 songs, 44 minutes) collected from the
singles. However, some between-song interaction is not preserved, appearing
only on the rare live promo album.
Single: A Tout le Monde (1995) Tracklist.
Comment: Two versions exist. The Holland version is shown. The US version has "A Tout
Le Monde", "Problems" (Sex Pistols cover), and "New World Order".
