Biography of BandUnhallowed formed in 1996, announcing it`s self to the world two years later with the release of the now infamous "Death Fist of Sodomy" demo. From this demo, Unhallowed contributed the track "Funeral Cross" to the third installment of Mortal coil's compilation "Eat the evidence."
In early `99, Unhallowed entered Mad Ferret Studios to begin work on what would become the band`s 2nd demo, PunchFucking Blasphemy." Released in 2000 and engineered by Evan Williams (Thestral, ex-Insatanity), PFB earned Unhallowed a worldwide following and sold 1500 copies. In support of PFB, Unhallowed blazed a trai across America gigging in New York, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, as well as their native New Jersey. 2000 also saw Unhallowed perform with the likes of Sentenced, Tiamat, Skinless, Mortician, and many others at the March Metal Meltdown in New Jersey. 2001 saw more relentless touring, as support on the east coast leg of Massachusetts death merchants Burial`s "Enlightened with Pain" Tour, and a slot on the 2001 Ohio Deathfest, a truly worldwide event with bands from 9 countries converging on the upper Cleveland area.
In early 2002 Unhallowed began preproduction on their forthcoming EP, due out on July 27th, 2004. On their sophomore outing, Unhallowed incorporate pounding grooves, soul rending emotion, and an increased sense of song writing to their formula of grind laden heaviness. Produced by Unhallowed and Ian Hatton, Unhallowed finds the band developing it`s own sound and style, while still managing to remain true to the roots which first inspired them to play. |
