Biography of Band

In Moscow, in 1996 bass player and vocalist Dmitry Vasin and guitarist Victor Chertkov formed the band “Absurd” with intention of making aggressive, Sweden melodic death metal.

In 1997 the first demo "Senselessness Of Existence" was recorded. But this demo was not spread widely. Soon the second guitarist Sergey Titov joined the band. And eventually they found the drummer Alexander Apashkin (before this on the concerts they had used drum-machine). So “Absurd” began an active working. They also had the repertory in English.

In Autumn of 1998 they recorded “Frostland”. For a support of this album, the band played several concerts in Moscow clubs.

In early 1999 the concert mini-album (which was recorded in the festival “Adskij Moroz” (Hell Coldness) in the club “Farvater”) was released.

In March of 2000 the promo-album "Beyond the dawn" was released. This album had received some good and average reviews in the Moscow underground.
