Biography of Band

The story of SINERGY began in August of 1997. This is when Kimberly met Jesper Strömblad (IN FLAMES) while touring in Europe together during her time playing with DIMMU BORGIR. They were talking about doing some kind of side project together, but as they were both so busy with their other bands, they never got around to recording anything.

Then after Kimberly's departure from DIMMU BORGIR she decided to move to Sweden and turn this "side project" into real band with a full line up. After recruiting members Alexi Laiho - lead guitar, Sharlee D'Angelo - bass and Ronny Milianowicz - drums, they entered Studio Fredman to record their debut album "Beware The Heavens" in October/ November of 1998. In the beginning of 1999 Kimberly relocated and moved to Finland. This made it nearly impossible to rehearse or write music together, since three of the members lived in Sweden. The next logical step was to recruit an entirely Finnish line-up!

"Beware The Heavens" was finally released in June of 1999. Just shortly after the release, they did their first tour in Japan. After Japan, Kimberly & Alexi completed the new line-up with new members Roope Latvala - lead & rhythm guitars, Marco Hietala - bass & backing vocals and Tommi Lillman - drums. Kimberly and Alexi remained in the band as the only original members. A european tour followed the induction of the new line-up.

Their second album, "To Hell And Back" was released in June of 2000. This was the first release with the new band members. It was recorded at Astia Studios and mixed/mastered at the famous Finnvox studios. Now with two albums out, they set out to show off their new sound to audiences across europe and Mexcio.

In the spring of 2001 SINERGY began writing material for their third effort, "Suicide By My Side". After 3 months of writing and arranging they re-entered the new and improved Studio Fredman. This would be drummer Tommi Lillman's final recording with SINERGY. During the last weekend of recording they had a listening session with members of the press, which proved to be a great success! The journalists all agreed that without a doubt this was the strongest and most powerful SINERGY album to date.

Upon returing home the search began for a new drummer. Luckily the band was able to count on long time friend (and Roope's ex-bandmate from Waltari) Janne Parviainen to fill the drum chair permanently.

"Suicide By My Side" is available on Nuclear Blast Records (Europe/ North America/ South America), Spinefarm Records (Finland), Toys Factory Records (Japan) and Dream On Music Corporation (Korea).
