Biography of BandCHUR is a studio project of Eugene K. The author takes a great interest in Slavic and Ukrainian history, culture and traditions. He is an
admirer of folk music in all its kinds, especially in heavy/hard arrangement. He considers that a term “folk-metal” in modern music is
too “metal” and not much “folkish”. CHUR is an attempt to create such music that would be really Ukrainian (Orian/Orathanian) folk, and
“metal” techniques would be the only way of arrangement. There are no aggressive vocals (growling, screaming) in CHUR's
music. Songs sound in Ukrainian; lyrics are created upon the basis of ancient Slavic archetypal symbolism of traditional pagan
Weltanschauung. As long as such kind of music is not a way to earn his leaving and support his family in Ukraine of nowadays, the author
remains faithful to CHUR as his favorite hobby-horse and keeps his career of a journalist. |
