Biography of BandOPENED PARADISE were formed in the middle of summer of 2003. The first rehearsals took place without a guitarist or a keyboard player.
Elias was on the drums, Kostas on the bass guitar and Periklis on the vocals. After approximately one month Babis joined the band and took
responsibility of the guitars.
After a very short period of time, a live recording was made. “Hopes On Crystal” and “Senseless” gave a first impression concerning the
music style they were going to follow. Tempting, aggressive surrounded by emotions of hope and revival. Music that would create pictures
in the eyes of the listener, and would lead him back to forgotten places and dimensions of time.
Later on, Alex joined the group as a session keyboard player. Without any problem he united the missing pieces of the three already
existing tracks (“Hopes on Crystal”, “Senseless”, “Closer”). Another live recording took place, this time with keyboards included. The
final result was well embraced by all. Alex fitted… so a proposal was made him to stay as a permanent member of OPENED PARADISE.
OPENED PARADISE is a gothic rock act inspired by Gothic Titans like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, GARDEN OF DELIGHT and NOSFERATU, but only as
a guide and inspiration. They don’t just remain there but they try to discover more and more the secret gifts of this sound and push it to
the New Millennium.
In the beginning of October 2003, the group had a proposal to play as support act on the “Dark Side Festival”, along with CLAN OF XYMOX,
GARDEN OF DELIGHT and OPHELIA’S GARDEN. It was a great opportunity to perform live with such names at the music stage of GAGARIN 205.
In the middle of 2004, they started recording their first full length CD, which is mixed by Sakis Tolis (ROTTING CHRIST) and mastered by
Artaud Seth (GARDEN OF DELIGHT, LUTHERION). Their debut album “OCCULT” is expected to be released within the year. |
