Biography of BandObsidian Reign are a truly dynamic Canadian metal band. With aggressiveness, power, and melody, this East-Coast quintet is unafraid to take risks. Their songwriting creatively encompasses thrash, death, and prog elements with a blend of vocal styles. Obsidian Reign are simply a metal band ... classify them however you choose. June 2004 sees the debut of Obsidian Reign's first EP, "Conviction", which contains 5 tracks. The band continues to write new material and perform regionally as all 500 copies of "Conviction" are sold out. In October 2006, the band releases their first full-length CD, "Persevere". Faster, heavier, and more technical, this album becomes a landmark in the local metal scene and touring extends further out from their own backyard, making their way as far as Toronto. Obsidian Reign has had the opportunity and the honour of sharing the stage with many great bands over the years including Augury, Quo Vadis, and Behemoth. A new album is in the works for late 2008 and it promises to be another step forward in aggression and songwriting.
