Biography of Band

In June of 1996 Establishing of the group Melankolia. In March of 1997 Group`s first show in Kotly club (Warsaw, Poland). Then in May First recordings. Songs recorded in rehearsal room appeared later in the year on the "Dejaniry" MC - a theatrical soundtrack. And in October of 1997 two songs are released on "Metal Against Racial Prejudice" compilation MC.

In 1998 many line-up changes. Michal Owczarczyk, the keyboard player decides to leave the band and Marcin Smolen, the bass player moves to guitar. One of most important events is the band`s name change. New one is: Naamah.

In June of 1999 The band in five-person line up records their first demo-CD called "Magia" ("The Magic"). That CD includes intro and four tracks of atmospheric doom/gothic metal.

In November of 1999 Marcin Smolen leaves the band and is being replaced by Mikolaj "Yeti" Szalkowski on guitar and his brother Krzysiek (keyboards).

In June of 2000 New backing vocalist and violinist, Marta Frakstein, joins the band.

In August of 2000 Recordings of new CD begins. This full time album is being recorded at DBX Studio in Warsaw and is simply called "Naamah". In December Drummer Tomek Grochowski leaves the band. Krzysiek Szalkowski takes his place. Group is looking for a new keyboard player.

In January of 2001 Naamah is recording two songs for the compilation "Ursynowski Rock" (containing songs performed by bands from southern Warsaw). Drums and keyboard parts are being recorded by Krzysiek.

In March New keyboard player Darek joins the band, in June Darek leaves the band. In September Adam Szewczyk - this is the name of a new keyboard-wizard in the band. In October Marta leaves the group. In December Mikolaj's wedding.

In February of 2002 Naamah enters DBX Studio once again. The recording session for a new album "Ultima" begins. Marta Frakstein appears as a guest.

In July of 2002 Naamah performs on "Voyage 51" - First Polish Progressive Music Festival.

In October of 2002 Deal proposal from Metal Mind Productions.

In December of 2002 Many interviews. E.g. in "Metal Hammer".

In January of 2003 "Ultima" hits the stores. One track from this album can also be found on "Dark Stars" compilation CD.

In June of 2003 Common tour with The Gathering. Then in August Krzysiek appears as a session drummer on the demo CD of gothic-rock band Haras.

In December "Eternal Fear" appears on "In Goth We Trust" - a gothic/industrial/metal compilation.

In January of 2004 Band records demo version of the new album. Krzysiek joins death metal band Gortal and - as the session drummer - death/grind Pyorrhoea.

In February of 2004 Beginning of the recordings of the new album. The CD named "Resensement" is recorded in "Serakos" Studio, by Magda & Robert Srzedniccy.

In March of 2004 End of work. The album is being mastered by Grzegorz Piwkowski and is ready to release!

In 19th of April - "Resensement" hits the stores!

In March of 2005 Adam Kaliszewski, band`s co-founder left Naamah, because of musical differences between him and the rest of the band.
