Biography of BandUnholy Inquisition was formed in Autumn of 2001 under the name of Satanic Inquisition by Insanus of Gorthaur`s Wrath (drums) as a side project.
The idea was to create music in the vein of the "true Black Metal" bands like Mayhem, Gorgoroth, Dark Funeral... He recruited then Prophet on guitar and the vocalist of Gorthaur`s Wrath, Morbid on bass. Insanus began to compose music and shortly after asked Azaghal to join as a second guitarplayer and Fog on vocals. Now that the line up was complete the rehearsing could begin.
The first rehearsal was in late October of that year and after that they decided to ask Wanderer to join as a keyboard player. The first gig they had was the local rock competition for demo bands on which we got the second place. After one more gig Unholy Inquisition played on the second anniversary of Ultrazvuk with Necrosphere, Gorthaur`s Wrath and Treatment. Shortly after that show Insanus finishes the recording of the first demo entitled Devil`s Diciples. After the recording of the demo the band splits up for a few months.
In summer 2002 Insanus and Prophet decide to reunite Unholy Inquisition but with some line up changes: Insanus (drums), Prophet (vocals), Azaghal (guitar) and two new members, Necroth (guitar) and Leviathan of Gorthaur 's Wrath (bass). After five more gigs this remains the current line up. |
